Moments New Talent Program

Great service, great price!
I've had several questions lately regarding Moments New Talent Program, especially since New Talent Nail Technician Jordan had joined our team.
At Moments and American Male new young talent is our lifeblood. Without a steady stream of new highly qualified hair, nail, or spa technicians our company would never grow! And being in the fashion industry, younger staff members help keep the salon current and full of energy.
Newly hired staff go through our in-salon training program and are then certified to perform services once he or she has demonstrated the skill necessary to perform up to Moments or American Male standards. This is true whether the new hire has had previous salon/spa experience or if we are their first employer.
So, what's the New Talent Program? Even though our new hires are technically certified to perform service up to our standards, they are still new. In order to keep them busy, we offer "New Talent" services at reduced "New Talent" prices. Currently, we have two New Talents in our program here at Moments.
Brittany Roosa is a stylist in Moments award-winning hair department. Presently, she has been certified to perform men's and children's cuts as well as women's Blow Dry Styling. You'll often see her helping her teammates and you may have even had her finish your blowdry to help keep us on time. If you have met or had Brittany style you hair, you know that I'm not exagerating when I say she is a bright, talented new stylist who is a great asset to our salon. Brittany has just about completed her in-salon training, and will soon be certified to perform Women's Cuts and all haircoloring services. Way to got Brit!!!

Our newest teammember is New Talent Nail Technician, Jordan. Jordan has been trained and certified to perform Moments Manicure AND Pedicure services. She is a friendly, delightful person and a great addition to our nail department. Welcome Jordan!
So, to make a long story short, please consider scheduling your next cut, style, manicure or pedicure with one of our New Talents. You'll receive the type of quality service you've come to expect from Moments, you'll be helping a great young talent gain valuable experience, and you'll save money doing it!
A complete list of New Talent Services and Pricing is available on our service menu. at the bottom of the page.
Till next time, take good care and thank you for being our customer!

We Are the World Then and Now

Which do you like best?
With the recent devastating earthquake in Haiti (believe it or not, it's already been a month), we have seen an out pouring of charity events to raise money. I actually visited Haiti a couple of times back in the '80's, and I can say first hand the the Haitian people were some of the nicest, kindest people I've met anywhere, and are so deserving of our help.
After seeing the new "We Are the World" video created by today's music stars, I decided to find the original video to see how it compared. Of course with YouTube, anything is possible so here are both videos. Enjoy, and please condider donating.
If you'd like to comment on your favorite, or share why you think today's stars are the best or why the '80's were cooler, or how funny (and young) everyone looked back in the day, or any thoughts at all, please email me at MomentsTeam@hairone.com. Who knows, you may just end up in the next blog post!

A picture is worth a thousand words.
We're always looking for new ways to reach out to folks who have never experienced Moments, so we decided to produce a series of web videos that would allow people to get a glimpse into our salon right from their computer!
Enjoy - and tell your friends!

Don't believe everything that you hear.
I've had several clients ask "What happened with Hairworks?" For those who don't know, Hairworks was the family salon a few doors down from us here in the Bank of America Plaza. When I began my usual answer, "Yes, it's a shame they had to close...etc." I was surprised to learn that many people were under the impression the two salons, Moments and Hairworks were affiliated. I was even more surprised to hear something like "oh, I thought you had closed" from a lot of folks
I supposed I shouldn't be too surprised. After all, it would be easy to assume affiliation in a shopping center with 3 different salons (Moments, Hairworks, & American Male.) And on top of that, Hairworks (originally Gullo's Family Hair Care) WAS opened and operated by me from 1983 through 2006. At that time I sold the business to concentrate on Moments/American Male.
And as anyone who ever played "whisper down the lane" knows, the news of a salon in the Bank of America Plaza closing can easily be confused. By the way, "whisper down the lane" is the game where one person whispers a story into another person's ear, who in turn whispers the story to a third person, who in turn whispers it to a fourth, and so on until the last person tells the story out loud and it's nothing at all like the original. It's actually a lot of fun.
So, just to clarify - we haven't been associated with Hairworks for several years now. And I do think it's a shame they had to close. The salon had a great run. I know many clients of Moments and American Male started out as a client of Hairworks (nee Gullo's) many years ago. I just want to say thanks for sticking with us over the years and know we will continue to serve you to the best of our ability for many years to come!

The Smart Way to Enjoy Spa Services

Is a Spa Membership right for me?
I'm often asked that question. I always give the same answer - "It depends." Let me explain.
At Moments, we have a killer spa department (offering massage, body care, skin care and nail care) in addition our incredible, Bumble and bumble trained Hair Department. 70% of clients who see us for hair services, also enjoy at least one of our spa services each year (side note to the other 30% - what are you waiting for?) Our Spa Membership program was designed to help our regular spa users to get the most out of Moments Spa.
Now, if you receive spa services you'll probably fall into one of the following three categories:
A) You regularly enjoy spa services, and by regularly I mean at least once per month. If you fall into this category, stop reading here and simply sign up for a Membership on your next visit. You'll save a ton of money and it's a no brainer for you.
B) You occaisonally enjoy a spa service, and by ocassionally I mean less than 4 times per year. If you fall into this category, stop reading here. Spa Memberships are not for you.
C) You love spa services (receiving about 4 to 8 per year) but you don't receive them as often as you'd like due to budget constraints. If you fall into this category, you really should consider a Spa Membership. In fact, we created the Spa Membership program just for you!
Here's what I mean. Let's say you really enjoy a one hour massage and would like to have one every month. At the regular price of $75 you wind up getting a massage every 6 to 8 weeks instead of every month, due to the expense. As a member, you receive a one hour massage EVERY month for only $49 each, a savings of $26 on each massage. So maybe you CAN have that massage every month after all!
We have memberships for Massage lovers, Facial lovers, etc... so please check it out. We also have Gift Memberships you can purchase online or in salon if you'd like to enroll a loved one who you know would appreciate it.
And one more thing - the spa services at Moments are more than just a pampering treat. We use and recommend Cures by Avance products when performing each service, and all are designed to promote health from the inside out. Moments spa services are not simply a "feel-good" experience; they're an important part of looking and feeling your best. And with our Spa Membership program, they're affordable too!
To good health,
Dennis
